Anchorpoint plans Solana minting for HKDAP stablecoin

US$4.9 billion in tokenised real-world assets are already on Solana, according to Anchorpoint and the Solana Foundation. Anchorpoint plans to bring its Hong Kong dollar stablecoin, HKDAP, to the network for native minting and redemption, aiming to serve payments and tokenised asset trading. The companies announced the collaboration on 30 October in Anchorpoint’s announcement.

For you, the key change would be where HKDAP is issued and redeemed: directly on Solana, rather than as a bridged copy of a token issued on another chain. The announcement gives no Solana launch date or details on who will be eligible to mint and redeem.

What would native HKDAP minting on Solana mean?

It would let Anchorpoint support HKDAP issuance and redemption on Solana itself. A stablecoin is a digital token designed to hold a set value; HKDAP is backed by Hong Kong dollars and pegged to the currency.

That distinction matters because a bridged token relies on a separate mechanism to represent assets held elsewhere. With native issuance, the stablecoin’s issuer can create and redeem tokens on the network where users transact. Anchorpoint has not yet published technical details or a Solana token address.

The companies say the plan is intended to support near-instant settlement, retail payments, tokenised real-world asset trading and other high-volume uses. They also cited more than 835,000 holders of tokenised assets on Solana.

Who is behind the stablecoin and the Solana plan?

Anchorpoint Financial is a subsidiary of Standard Chartered Bank (Hong Kong) and a joint venture established with HKT and Animoca Brands in February 2025. The Hong Kong Monetary Authority granted Anchorpoint a stablecoin issuer licence in April 2026, according to the company’s announcement.

The Solana Foundation will also join Anchorpoint’s Tokenised Money Adoption Programme as a strategic partner. Anchorpoint launched the programme in September with PwC Hong Kong as its first strategic partner, according to Fintech News Hong Kong’s report.

The collaboration is a plan to expand HKDAP, not a confirmed public launch. Anchorpoint says it aims to make HKDAP and related tokenised products available through corporate partners and consumer applications, but the announcement does not name those partners or say when access will begin.

Can you use HKDAP on Solana now?

No Solana launch date has been announced. HKDAP is currently in beta for institutional and professional users on Ethereum, according to Fintech News Hong Kong. The Solana plan does not confirm that retail users can mint or redeem the token directly.

Until Anchorpoint publishes an official Solana contract address and access details, you cannot verify a token claiming to be HKDAP on that network from this announcement alone. Check Anchorpoint’s official channels for supported networks and authorised distributors before acting.
