Byreal’s Four Trading Paths: Swaps, Pools, Perps and Predictions

Byreal brings four trading paths together: swaps, pools, perpetuals and predictions. Each asks you to take a different kind of market risk, so the first step is choosing the one that fits your goal. For byreal, the useful distinction is whether you want to exchange tokens, supply liquidity, take a leveraged position or trade an event outcome.

A swap exchanges one token for another; a pool lets you put tokens to work as liquidity; a perpetual tracks an asset’s price without an expiry date; a prediction market lets you take a position on an event. You can compare these options on byreal, but each has its own execution and settlement details.

How do you make a swap on byreal?

A swap quotes an exchange from one token into another, with the final amount shaped by the route, liquidity and price movement before execution. Byreal runs on Solana, where a compatible wallet authorizes the transaction and SOL pays network fees.

Start by identifying the token you want to receive and checking its mint address, the unique identifier for a token on Solana. A familiar ticker alone is not enough: different tokens can share similar names. Then review the quote’s expected output, price impact, fees and slippage tolerance. Price impact is the effect your trade has on the available liquidity; slippage is the difference between the quoted and executed price.

Use this sequence before you sign:

  1. Connect the wallet you intend to use and confirm it has the input token and enough SOL for network fees.
  2. Select the pair and amount, then check the token mint addresses and route.
  3. Review expected output, price impact, fees and slippage settings.
  4. Sign only if the terms still make sense; check the wallet prompt and transaction details first.

A lower slippage limit can stop a trade from executing if the price moves too far, though a failed transaction may still cost a network fee. A higher limit may allow a worse rate. For larger orders, compare the expected output at different amounts: thin liquidity can make the price deteriorate as trade size rises.

How do Byreal pools and liquidity work?

Byreal pools use concentrated liquidity, which lets a provider choose a price range for their deposited tokens. That focuses liquidity around selected prices, where it can be used for swaps and earn a share of trading fees.

The trade-off is that your position needs attention. When the market price moves outside your chosen range, the position stops earning swap fees until the price returns to that range. As prices move, the pool can also change the mix of tokens you hold. If their relative prices shift, your position may be worth less than simply holding those tokens in your wallet; this is called impermanent loss.

Before adding liquidity, compare the pool’s fee tier, current price and available range. A narrower range concentrates your capital more tightly, but is easier for the market to leave. A wider range can stay active through more price movement, but spreads your capital across a larger interval. Fees are variable, and earning them does not guarantee a profit.

  • Swaps: useful when you want to exchange tokens, with execution affected by liquidity, route and slippage.
  • Pools: let you supply liquidity and earn fees, with range management and price divergence to consider.
  • Perpetuals: allow long or short exposure to an asset’s price, with margin, funding costs and liquidation risk.
  • Predictions: let you trade event outcomes, where resolution criteria and settlement rules matter.

How do Byreal perps and predictions differ?

Perpetuals give you price exposure through a derivatives position, rather than by buying and holding the underlying token. Byreal’s perps are powered by Hyperliquid, and the product supports crypto and some real-world asset markets. A long position gains when its market rises; a short gains when it falls, before fees and funding.

Leverage lets a smaller margin support a larger position, which magnifies both gains and losses. If the market moves against you far enough, your position can be liquidated and your margin lost. Check the required margin, funding rate, liquidation level and contract details before opening a position. Funding is a periodic payment between traders that helps keep the perpetual price near its reference market. It can add to your costs or your returns.

Prediction markets work differently: the position depends on whether a defined event outcome occurs, rather than the direction of a continuously priced asset. Byreal Predict launched around real-world sports events. Before taking a position, read how the market defines the outcome, which source determines it and when settlement happens. A market label may sound clear while its rules leave edge cases unresolved.

These products do not share one risk model. Swaps carry token and execution risk; pools add range and price-divergence risk; perps add leverage and liquidation risk; predictions hinge on market rules and event resolution. Byreal puts them under one roof, but that does not make them interchangeable. Match the product to the decision you mean to make, and check its terms before you commit funds.
